We love Maine Coon Cats.
We are a small family owned, TICA and CFA registered Maine Coon Cattery located in the Midwest. Our priority is to raise healthy, well-socialized Maine Coon kittens that fit closely to the breed’s standard. Therefore, we only have a handful of litters each year. There is no waitlist, nor do we accept deposits for unborn kittens.
My Love Affair with Beautiful Cats
Over six years ago, I was personally introduced to a litter of Maine Coon kittens. Only one week old, with their eyes still closed, I hand picked my very first Maine Coon kitten. She was tiny, with a unique color and one red patch covering her left eye. I gently cupped her in my hand, melted and fell in love.
Ten weeks later when I brought her home, I noticed she wasn’t acting like a normal kitten. She was sleepy, not playful, and did not seem interested in her food. The breeder assured me there was nothing to worry about and that she was “just a sleepy kitten.” I shortly discovered she was underweight, malnourished, and had a parasitic infection.
By profession, I am a Labor and Delivery Nurse with over 20 years of nursing experience and at that moment my caring instincts took over. I was in love with this cute little kitten and, at that moment, she was the most important thing in my life. For the next three days, every three hours around the clock, I finger-fed her soft food and gave her drops of water. After the three days, I knew she was going to survive. From then on, she became my Venus, my Goddess of Love and Beauty.
With my professional background, the love I have for Maine Coons, and the strong desire to preserve the breed, I decided to start my own cattery. After attending cat shows, forming connections with breeders and finding a mentor, my dream came true.
Our goal is to produce well socialized, healthy kittens with strong genetic traits that help contribute in preserving the Maine Coon breed. With my professional background in labor and delivery, I understand the importance of rest and care, proper nutrition, routine veterinary care, vaccinations, and genetic testing to ensure I’m providing a top quality Maine Coon kitten.
Our expecting females are provided with their own private nursery to rest, recover, and raise her kittens. All of our breeding females are rotated to provide them with a long recovery time between each litter to prevent undue stress and fatigue. All our Maine Coons, including kittens, live with us, underfoot, with constant interaction and care. This, along with our breeding philosophy, helps us provide you with a very healthy, friendly, and well socialized Maine Coon kitten.
Since the Health of all our breeding Maine Coons is very important to us, we conduct a comprehensive genetic test to screen for known hereditary conditions. We screen them for HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), PKD1 (Polycystic Kidney Disease) and PkDef (Pyrunate Kinase Deficiency). (link to page describing each condition)
We use The Veterinary Genetic Laboratory (VGL) at the University of California, Davis. This is a nonprofit, self-supporting unit within the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis. VGL is renowned for its highly accurate genetic testing services, along with providing genetic diagnostics, parentage verification, and forensic services.
All of our Maine Coons are under the care of a local, licensed Veterinarian. They receive regular veterinary visits, yearly physical, routine vaccines, fecal testing, and are evaluated for Hip dysplasia. All expected breeding females get additional veterinary visits with a prenatal and a postnatal visit from our Vet. The Kittens start veterinary visits at 4 weeks for a wellness check, then follow up every 4 weeks until they are picked up by their forever family. We do this to ensure that we provide you with a kitten with the best optimal health.
